In celebration of 4/20!
This time we will be camping at Sandy Beach County Park campground in Rio Vista.
(Lake Solano suffered significant fire damage and is currently undergoing regrooving)
You'll need to reserve a site for yourself (and maybe your pal)
AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE because they changed the dang rules.
PLEASE SHARE YOUR SITE. Or don't. No worries.
Saturday night (4:00pm) will feature PANTRY-RAID CHILI!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Important notes:
Although this event occurs around 4/20 day, it must be pointed out that all Solano County Parks are smoke-free and they're actually quite serious. They also have a new Ranger who is all gung-ho. Discretion is nine-tenths of the law.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
PANTRY RAID CHILI INSTRUCTIONS:
Look in your pantry. Grab only *ONE* 14 oz. (or so) can that matches the description on the list below.
Then, bring along that can (and a bowl and spoon for yourself) to the camp out. We will add the contents of your contribution to a base of beef and onions.
PANTRY RAID CHILI CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS:
Bring along one 14 -15 oz. can of any of the things listed below:
Pinto beans
Red Kidney beans
White beans
Navy beans
Piquinto beans
Diced tomatoes
Diced tomatoes with Italian spices
Diced tomatoes with Jalapeños
Crushed tomatoes
Chopped tomatoes
Rotel tomatoes
Chili con Carne
Chili sin Carne
Chili con Zarigüeya
Ranch Style beans of any variety
Please do NOT bring Black beans.
Please do NOT bring Garbanzo beans.
Please do NOT bring Lentil beans.
If bringing a can of beans won’t work for you, then bring corn bread or a scrumptious dessert. Or a bottle of wine. We like wine. Or firewood. We like that too. If that won’t work either, then just bring yourself, a bowl, a spoon, an appetite and a new joke.
I have a 30amp adapter and a heavy duty power cord with a multi plug splitter so we can each plug in. Ice maker, hummm. I have one of those.
Correcting my typos.
1) if anyone wants a craft activity bring an empty wine/beer/etc bottle. I have bottle lights and paint pens. (Google cork bottle lights if you don’t know what I’m talking about.)
2) I just realized we have electricity! I kept thinking this was dry camping. Very excited. Ice machine added to the pack list. Though sewing machine won’t be coming this time (well, unless anyone needs something hemmed).
Yes! to the battery!
We've had a friend have a family emergency and we need to be there for her, we're pulling out, we'll miss you all and see you around I'm sure!! Take care!!

Remember a few years ago, I think either soup-o-bowl or thanksgiving, at Sandy Beach the guy that brought a huge 7-up cake to share? I forget his name. It was the best cake Philip and I ever had, and this dude was so damn funny, too! Anyway, I'm going to try a replicate this 7-up cake to share with this crowd. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday:)
We will miss catching up with the Vincent family. You have such good strength and mojo for others and hope all will be well.
