Event Description

Lawson’s Landing is a fishing and boating resort and campground, situated at the mouth of Tomales Bay, California— known for generations of families as a place to escape the heat and to rest along the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

Camping is in meadows surrounded by sand dunes (and often cows) with the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay a short walk away.  Camping is $26 a night.

We will be arriving early Friday and block off an area big enough for us all.

Hi everyone, here are some things you should think about bringing. The campground is wide open and has a tendancy to be windy. People often form tarp barriers to block the wind. I'm thinking about circling some busses and then tarping below and between to create a wind block. Then I'm also going to bring a portable fire pit so that we can set up camp where ever we want. They don't have picnic tables, so portable tables and chairs are a must. I'm also definitely bringing my little propane BBQ so we can grill some oysters. I haven't herd about a potluck yet, so I think everyone for themselves, sharing is not discouraged. I might also bring our kayak for a paddle in Tomalas Bay. See you guys there. -Blake

This is what those crazy Brits use when they are camping in these sorta places.

Have tables, will travel. I have tarp, springy clamp things and a weather forecast that says clouds not wind. We'll manage. Thanks for the insight.

Had to change my RSVP...  I ended up getting a highly sought after early arrival pass for Burning Man....  I'll be thinking of y'all on the cool coast as I bake in the cruel desert sun, for an extra week :)

Woohoo!  I was just thinking that I need a little getaway this weekend and here it is.  No reservation though - sounds like I can squeeze in somewhere?  Not sure I can get it together to come up after work... I'll probably have to come up tomorrow  morning.

We made it to the campground. Have a big area roped off. We are on the left about 500 yards past the entrance. You shouldn't miss us. Reservations will not be needed. It's the low season here right now. High overcast, with no wind right now. Guaranteed to change. We brought a fire pit and rounded up two picnic tables. Look forward to seeing everyone!  -Blake

The bovines are definitely light this year. Maybe they have already started their hibernation?
