Thank You Laura, It is very loved. I'm (very) lucky to had inherited it in very good shape from my Father (California original...almost completely rust free).

I see you also have a 78 and use it extensively (nice)...something I had planned to do originaly, but decided to use as a "Light Duty Camper" only because of the significance of the Model. Funny thing is my Father and I had no idea it was a Limited Edition until someone told me. Ha! Either way I think every VW is worth saving and enjoying. If you ever want to discuss anything about parts and such...drop a line. Oh...I'm with Progressive Insurance now, but they wanted too much to insure the more realistic value of my Camper(only covers up to $8K now)...that's why I'm considering Haggerty since they will cover specialty vehicles very inexpensively. Well I ramble...sorry.

Maybe our paths will cross in a future Campout . Thank you for the nice compliment, take care and enjoy that Westy! ..

awesome, if you come through here in April you'll be able to catch our big Texas show. Called The Texas Classic. Huge get together, lots of folks, it's down in Fredricksberg Texas, which is a little south of Austin.

There are tons of free places to stay around Flagstaff. We're surrounded by National Forest so many spots are pretty close to town. Many people are surprised about this, but Flagstaff is at 7000 feet so we usually get a lot of snow. Depending on when you'd be in the area, that could be a problem for you. Last year we had as much as 3 to 5 feet of snow on the ground from December through March. Sedona is lower in elevation, but finding free camping is difficult. There are National Forest Campgrounds there, but also lots of tourists. Good mountain biking and trail running both in Flagstaff and Sedona. We also have great climbing. Let me know when you'll be heading this way.

Hey Laura...Hotel VW and I are also traveling these days. Been through Glacier Park down through Boise and over to Bend OR and then up to Astoria and down the entire coast into Napa Valley (where I was born)...after visiting Family for awhile I plan to head down the coast to San Diego then over into the Salton Sea area (Slab City perhaps?) and then try to find some free camping in AZ? Not sure where yet but if your adventures take you that way get ahold of me. I will have a bunch of free sites on here one day when I can slow down and look over my Camping Log Book.
