Look to book a site in Phase B - Sites 12-53 (Most are already booked). We have an enormous food fest Saturday night- a potluck featuring a turkey on the Weber and all the traditional Thanksgiving fixins that people bring to the table. Friday night this year will be Taco night-bring your favorite tacos, taco salad, pozole, quesadillas or tamales to share if you want to pig out 2 nights in a row.
Location:
Del Valle Regional Park, Livermore, CA.
One of the nicest things about this park for this event is the dishwashing station with HOT water.
Great thought Kris, I understand what you're thinking. We have historically had it the weekend before T-day. We moved it for a reason and that is that T-day is very late in the month this year (28th) and the rainy season will be well upon us. But perhaps that is not enough of a reason. The "holiday" weekend does make it more difficult for site availability, no doubt. The loop has been booked solid every year we have been here, even at the later date. So we may have "lessons learned" after this year's event and can adjust if need be! Keep those cards and letters coming! Nothing is set in stone.
Does anyone have an open spot left for Joe? We just spoke and I suspect he needs the space.
Just chatted with Joe. He's going to be in one of the two slots in site 34.
So, as of this posting, it looks like Kris has a spot. Laura has a spot and Joe has a spot. That'd be site 38, 36 and 34, respectively.
Oops. My bad. Looks like Eva is in with Kris.
So only two spots left.
34 and 36
So... is anyone else interested in preparing the turkey this year? I have done it four years in a row and am willing to take a break. OTOH, if no one else is interested, I will do the honors.
Can it be prepped at the campground? I'll pitch in.
Not safe for anyone if I cook... just sayin
bring wood. bring wine.
Oh, no, it has to prepped at home and transported in a double plastic bag in a cooler full of ice. Prepping on site is not recommended. Too much opportunity for contamination, stealthy acts by large slobbering dogs and finding it half-frozen when you're ready to put it on the grill.
