Hallsted Campground

The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:

How crazy would it be to have the entire camp site booked by our group?

Comment by westywoman (Melissa) on February 21, 2016 at 4:06pm

I'm pretty sure that's what happened last year. And Seattle Dan was waiting for us in the non-reservable site 9.

As usual, I can share my spot. And if others are willing to double up, we'll have room for at least another dozen buses.

Steph here. New to the group and I'm in #4

Hi Steph and welcome! 4 is a great site. I'm glad Stephan got you you in touch with us. There will be many more details in the weeks before the campout. Traditionally, we have a potluck on Saturday night. The Twain Store is a mere 1/4 mile hike for ice, sandwiches, beer and ice cream bars. This is exciting, we nearly own the campground and it's only February 23!

I'm with Michele, we are in Site 5. And, we'll have two kids, 3 year old boy and 5 year old girl..... we are happy to share the spot as well if anyone wants to hang with a family of 4!

A little late to the reservation party on this I got site #1 again, Can't wait to see you all at Bus City, then Trainspotting

I closed it out I think.

Picked up site 2 from Thursday night until Sunday morning.

I will be pitching a tent, or just popping the cot out under the stars.

I'm a single.  But set the reservation for the max 6 people and two vehicles, if someone else needs a spot to hunker in, I am happy to share.

Greetings, Marty! You sure did close it out! Thanks for deciding to join us and thanks for offering to share. There are likely to be a few volks who want to join the party closer to the event time. Those that want to share their sites can speak up and say so. There is no obligation to do so, however.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm in 19 and I can share. You might want to amend the list to reflect open spots, as In "19   John /(open)"
