Being that this GTG is in March, most of the better CG's are still closed.  This generally means closer in with less ambience.  I have an email out to this place.

I wouldn't oppose Lake Del Valle but the November event is held there.  There are places along the Delta and this would soon after the Rio Vista event.

I knew we should have pooled our money and bought that ten acres in Mi-Wok.

So no worries, no hurries.  I browse around for a week or two.  Feel free to offer site suggestions.  I'll do the footwork.

Sounds like a good time, but crossing the Rockies from NW Wyoming at that time of the year would be tough. Might be in your area later on though.

Lake Chabot is an option.  It could be kind of spread out depending on where people camped, but it's a decent campground, $22/night and $8 extra vehicle.  And they have group camps - I think it's just an open field.

Chabot is on the radar.  I personally have not been there but have always heard good reviews.  The fine print on most group sites is for tenting and the vehicles are in the parking lot.  Chabot could be different.  I'll check it out.

I'd really like to find something central.  IMO, the Delta and on up into Vacaville is central.  I have some time.

We are a maybe.  Still lots to do and not enought time.  My engine is still out and I hope to begin the rebuild in a few weeks.

I put in an email to  East Bay Parks & Rec to see if the Punta Vaca group site at Del Valle will be available.  That section usually opens April 1st but it's a cool spot.  The drawback of it is a 15 vehicle limit.  

Lake Solano would be a doable meet in the middle park.  I've been there but not camped.  IIRC, the upper spaces are user friendly for group affairs.  All else is on the hillsides.

Anyone know about East Park Reservoir?  Spent a few consecutive years there while camping from the back of a hatchback Mustang.

The east side is very user friendly for a Circle the Wagon event.  Dunno if it's open in march.  I'll call the ranger station
