Ruby at the beach.
Shortly after Ruby was given to me I had her towed to Tassi's in Colma, CA so they could check the brakes and get her running. I drove her for a few months and the parked her in the garage for the winter where she is now getting some extensive restoration and repair work done.

I like Tassi. Bruce, the guy that runs the place, is a super nice guy and definitely knows his stuff when it comes to VWs. I've only taken Ruby there once, and that was when I first got her and she had been sitting for six years, but those guys at Tassi got her running again and I drove her home. My wife used to have a '78 Bug convertible and she took it there for everything it needed and she was very happy with the service she got from them.
If you're trying to decide whether or not to take your bus there I'd recommend just going in there and talking to them first and get a feel for the place. I think that would give you a better idea if you want to deal with them. I hope this helps.
