Event Description

Get that VW Transporter ready for Bus City XVIII.

Held at Schoolhouse Canyon Campground in Guerneville, California, this is sure to be a family friendly event that you do not want to miss. 

This year the event runs from Thursday May 14th - Sunday May 17,2026. 

The campground opens up this weekend just for the VW Family and is closed to the general public, with that being said, this is strictly a VW Transporter and VW era campers only event. There are no reservations for this event, the sites are large and campsite sharing is encouraged. Never in the previous 17 years of this event has anyone ever been turned away due to lack of space.

Come out and enjoy a nod to a simpler time when a family could sit around a campfire and tell stories, swim in the river (private access), go fishing and have fun. This is a true heritage park, one of the last real tent campgrounds on the Russian River. Loud or obnoxious behavior will not be tolerated, and you will be asked to leave with no refund (never been an issue).

The Campground has clean bathrooms equipped with flush toilets, hand washing sinks, coin operated showers and located just outside the restrooms are dishwashing stations, and usb charging stations. 

Bus City Nor Cal XVIII, May 14-17, 2026. Schoolhouse Canyon Campground, 12600 River Road, Guerneville, California. Gates open at 12pm on Thursday May 14th.

Nightly Rates:

Standard Campsite - first 2 people and 1 car - $48

Premium Campsite - first 2 people and 1 car - $68

Extra people $9 per person

Extra vehicle $9

Dogs $9 - please see breed restrictions

Camper Van, RV or Trailer Fee $15

Day Use / Visitor Fee $7 per person, dog or car 

Seasoned Firewood Bundle $9

Hot Shower just 25¢ per min.

Forms of payment: Cash only 

Plus Tax

*All Prices Subject to county Occupancy Tax

*Generators are strictly prohibited

Thanks... I was able to come up with one (using this year's logo, some basic information, and both a tinyURL as well as a QR code to direct people to all of the details here on VW Camper Family).

I'll pass these out on Sunday to all the Split Buses at the SOTO meet; love to get the number of Split Buses up to as much, if not more than Bays and Vanagons!

I know not everybody that drives a bus is a dead head, but thought I would put this out there. This is going on the same weekend in Kerrville. I will probably head over and check it out.

Aight there you cappy hampers.  It's time to pull off the blanket, check the oil, air up the tires, throw some gas in it and make ready for the 18th gathering of Bus City.  I'll throw out one more group invite to the Fellow Bussers.  Bring wood.  Bring wine.  Take pic's or it didn't happen.  Be kind. Themz da rulz.

I can only attend from Saturday to Sunday, 

Where would I find our group ? and could I share a campsite with  fellow Campers?

Yes you can share a campsite and the entire campgrounds will be closed to Bus City Participants only so all the group

Hey Ben.  Regis here.  Eva has been with VWCF for a long time.  She is asking how to find people with whom she is familiar to maybe share a spot.  I suppose the general answer is to just look for someone when she arrives.
