Pictured after meeting my 71 Westy for the first time, with my eBay car dealer

After my October 2009 winning bid on eBay, and a delay due to ill health, here I am in mid December at last meeting my 1971 Westfalia.
After naming the VW 'The YesWeCan CamperVan' to encourage me in my 3500 mile drive home to Massachusetts, I discovered the previous (one and only) female owner had named him Dexter.
She also told Przemek, the dealer, to tell the new owner ... "I had 3 husbands in my VW (oops, I mean she said "I met 3 future husbands while owning my VW"!!) ....and then Przemek handed me a plastic bag containing pieces that had been removed from Dexter over the years. It was a very small bag the size of my hand.
Also every single piece of work on Dexter had been documented and all records were intact. Even the shipping docs were in the van and these revealed that Dexter had visited my home country of England on his maiden voyage to the USA!!!
