Dillons Beach/Lawson's Landing
NO BOVINES along the seawall :)
A casual beach getaway, $70 for the weekend... pricey, but whatcha gonna do? No hook ups or electrical available. Well you could share a site and split the difference. The Lawson village is on its last legs since the state will be taking over, sad... many of the old trailers have been moved already.
I have reserved site 3-5 along the seawall (water view of Tomales Bay) for myself , Gene and Mike. The seawall is located a short walk from the store/bait shop and pier. You can fish for fish or rock crab off the pier, 1 day fishing licenses are available at the bait shop. You can dig for clams along the seawall at low tide too. Sometimes people will sell their catches of Salmon and Oysters... so the potential food options could be fun. You might be able to hook up for a fishing excursion too (I'm not sure about that) You can rent a boat or bring your own... even a kayak :) Potluck dinner up in the air
I agree - seems like they should be grandfathered in. Losing some history there.
Weather report... low 70's day, mid 50's at night... bring wood, wine, grub and a good time!
We always gather, just no set rules and this event is potluck free... but people always tend to share chips and such
I just spoke to the lady at Lawson's Landing and she said the vendors SOMETIMES come through the campground selling oysters and whatnot. But we can't count on it. She said she didn't think they came through at all last weekend. FYI.
Nearby oyster companies:

Wow - everyone woke up today. Just an update on those oyster companies - Drakes Oyster Company (formerly Johnson's) no longer exists. It was on Drakes Estero and was being run by a local rancher. Unfortunately, they were closed down in December due to losing their lease with the park. Hog Island's owners are neighbors of mine and if you buy on 8/21 - 10% of proceeds benefit West Marin Elementary School. I personally like The Marshall Store if you can't wait to eat them - sit on their deck and enjoy raw, bbq, rockefeller and their clam chowder. Cash only but they have an ATM. You may find me there on the way to Dillon.
