Did you ever wonder where the historic Western Pacific railroad tracks went from the Keddie Wye? The main line goes east over the Sierra but a branch line turns to the north. It is known as the Highline. It follows Indian Creek to the north. It passes by Crescent Mills and Lake Almanor.
We're camping in Taylorsville, a few miles east of the Highline tracks. Taylorsville has a great market with high quality meats, home-made sausages, sandwiches and other grocery items. The Taylorsville campground is a half-mile east of town, along Indian Creek. There is patchy cell service in the campground. Bring your bike to ride into town!
Those of you familiar with Hallsted Campground-Taylorsville is about 17 miles to the north.
No reservations needed. There's plenty of room. If we get 5 or more, the host will reserve sites for us. Bring a table, not all sites have tables. It's an open, grassy campground with nice tree cover. Sites are casual, not highly defined. No electric. Modern bathrooms with flush toilets. Showers require quarters. $14/night.
We camped here in October 2014.

NO... nuff said ;)
I can even swap out that puny 1.8 with a much larger 1.9. No charge.
I'm good thanks :)
Gonna try to make camp. Sounds fun! Last time we were in this area, we were trekking with the MG car club. Looking forward to camping in this beautiful area. First time in this vehicle.
Well, we've got 6 now that Joel Bubeck has appeared in the "yes" category. Joel, we haven't see you you in many moons, it will be a pleasure! I will be calling the campground host around October 1 to give her a head count and ask her to set aside some real estate for us, although I doubt it is really necessary. If some of you "maybes" get more serious, please let me know by changing your RSVP or posting a comment. And Regis, you should make this one, too. Really.
