Meet at: Parking lot on the Great Highway across the street from the Beach Chalet restaurant. Hang out, talk shop and maybe burn something on the beach after dark.

Comment by westywoman (Melissa) on January 19, 2016 at 7:56pm: Jamez, good for you for going. It can be a lot of fun. A few years back the busses infiltrated and a good time was had by all. Consider cooking up lunch in the parking lot. It always impresses the gawkers. It is unlikely that I will go, being heavily dependent upon weather and the fact that I HATE driving in the Bay Area. Especially in my bus. My old '81 is shown the photo above, it was the inaugural year. Back in the day, they used to burn an aluminum case on the beach. Hence the name of the event. Pretty spectacular.
