A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.
Technically, the park is in Oregon. But if you are traveling to/from Maupin and looking for a campground that has hot showers and shore power to charge up all your gadgets, I can recommend Goose Lake Recreation Area near Lakeview, OR. It is literally right on the state line off Highway 395. The cellular phone service is spotty, but I did eek out enough bars from time-to-time to send a few e-mails and play Words with Friends. The bathrooms are spotless. It is a state park and the fee for one vehicle is $20.00. Emphasis on "park". Open grassy, shaded sites. Be sure to gas up in either Alturas, CA or Lakeview, OR, because there is nothing in-between. Located on Highway 395. Camp host has firewood and ice. No pay phone.

Hi Westywoman!
Sorry I didn't make it to TS3 this year, hope you all had a great time.
I'm going to be in the Goose Lake area soon. I usually head into the Warner Wilderness to some really nice and secluded National Forest campgrounds. After about four days or so in the woods, Goose looks like a great place to clean up and recharge the batteries. What kind of electric hook-ups do they have? is it a regular 110 plug or different?
Thanks,
KampnKing
