Please post all your campground info here.

We have found that one of the coolest functions of this group is that VW owners can now get campground advice from other VW owners. This allows us to share info like what sites can take 2 VWs, what sites are flat enough to camp and what sites allow for a group camp.

Please leave this forum California-specific information.

This could be ridiculously awesome if we could have a click on map for where these places are located. And damn Brett, were you compiling this list or is this just off the top of your head?!?

I agree on the map thing and am working on it but it will take some time. I want to add it as a tab to the top to take you to a VW Camper Family Google Map. And, these reviews were mostly from "Lost Campers", a blog I used to write. There are more coming...

Note: we created a Google map. right now, only a few of us have access to update it. We will get it up to date and then discuss the best way to keep it updated.

Lived four years in SOCAL. Oceanside, CA to be exact... well the Tri-County area anyway. I was driving Amphibious Assault Vehicles for the Marine Corps. Lived near the beach, worked on the beach... pretty much everyday for four years. I miss the ocean.  Gotta head West soon.

Camped at Castaic Lake, CA in Santa Clarita.  Good get together spot, 65 spaces.  2 lakes for fishing, swimming and boating.  Great views.

A little known Monterey campground above Monterey High school is the city Veterans Memorial Park in the pine trees overlooking Monterey and the bay. Big green lawn and park with equipment for kids and clean rest rooms.
