The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat! The weather can be variable in June. For information on the Hallsted campground, the recreation.gov link is below:…See More

Annual Soup Or Bowl Campout at Sandy Beach Park, Rio Vista, CA

February 11, 2022 at 2pm to February 13, 2022 at 11am
Our annual escape from Superbowl Madness. It will be our usual set-up .... wine, food, companionship (bring the wine and bring or buy the wood). Also, musical instruments are welcome, and maybe we can jam a little.Friday night is pizza night ... bring your little Coleman camp ovens or use ours, and make and bake an 8" pizza. (You provide ingredients, of course.)On Saturday, the legendary 'Soup or Bowl' competition will take place once again! Here's how it works: Prepare a batch of something hot…See More

4/20 campout at Lake Solano County Park

April 22, 2022 at 2pm to April 24, 2022 at 12pm
In celebration of 4/20!We will be camping again at Lake Solano County Park campground, which is technically in Winters, but somewhat closer to Vacaville. You'll need to reserve a site for yourself (and maybe your pal) in the range of sites from #39 to 45. That's the main VW area. If those run out, then consider snagging sites 9,10 or 11. And if those run out, there are lotsa other spaces.PLEASE SHARE YOUR SITE. Or don't. No worries. This campground is easy to get to, has a swell nature center,…See More
