Join us in the scenic and historic Feather River Canyon at Hallsted Campground in the Plumas National Forest. The campout will feature tie-dyeing and a potluck dinner Saturday.
Please Note: All sites have been reserved as of 5/19. You will need to arrange a share if you do not have a reservation. See the comment wall for a list of known campers and sites.
There are National Forest Service free campsites nearby as well as camping at the Twain Store, both within walking distance. The link to the Hallsted campground where the campout is being held is in the header above.
The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a natural and cultural resource treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:

All sites are at Hallsted Campground now reserved. Those who want to attend who do not have a reservation will need to find someone willing to share their site. Alternately, there is free NFS camping nearby as well as a small, woodsy RV park at the Twain Store. A few miles up the road toward Quincy is the R&R RV park with natural hot springs (formerly known as Woody's).

Hi Volks! We had a great time at Bus City :) And looky here another campout! If anyone has a spot they're willing to share let us know and we'll repay you in sweets!
All sites at Hallsted will accommodate two busses. However, not all campers choose to share and that is their prerogative. That's why it is important to try to identify a share prior to arriving. Otherwise, the other nearby camping options are noted above. Sorry, it is a small campground and that is part of its charm, as opposed to larger events. And, we don't even know who have reserved several of the campsites, they may not be "our volks". There may be interlopers.
I'm sharing my site with Ruben and his wife (their bus too :)
Damn... looks like a full house
We don't know who have reserved seven of the sites: 01, 04, 05, 09, 12, 14 or 19. They may or may not be our people.
Howdy,
We're heading out tomorrow for a N Cal/S Or tour, and we may be on our way home during this campout weekend, so may stop by. If we do, looking forward to seeing ya'll and the vans; if not, we'll plan better next year. There'll be two vans, one a normalish blue multivan, the other a weatherbeaten syncro on 'roids.
Oh, and we'll have wine. Lot's of wine.
