Event Description

The Biggest Volkswagen Show in Texas! A weekend of camping, cruising and Volkswagenism. Roll through the hill country on the Bluebonnet Cruise, followed by a BBQ dinner on Saturday. Then wake up early Sunday to show off your VW to the masses, check out the competition, and navigate the sea of spare parts, used cars, toys, and other VW items. The show concludes Sunday afternoon with an awards presentation including projected photos of winning cars.

Comment by Herman on March 10, 2011 at 7:11am: Planning on being there with Kaki and the "shade" trailer. I'll have a few parts for sale both bay and split window stuff. And yes Chris for the 3rd time!!!! Spaten on draft and a trip to the brew house!!

Comment by Herman on March 23, 2011 at 2:16pm: That is our plan. Alma is going to hold a spot for us. I did a 180 on the trailer I was building. I made it too heavy. I bought a smaller lighter trailer frame and will make it work to pull with the Westy. It just won't be as elaborate as the first one. The first one I built will end up to house a BBQ smoker.

Comment by Herman on March 31, 2011 at 7:44am: Its the tree area down by the river that has been excluded from the camping area. The area that is now the whole main camping area really only about a third was used in the past although it also was the swap meet area. I don't know how its going to be but I will give it a go. I suspect that making the camping area smaller will make it easier to "police." That is probably the main reason. I really don't see the Classic to continue in Fredericksburg in the future. The city really doesn't want it there. Its a shame because its a naturally perfect venue to have a VW meet.
