Event Description

A campout in the scenic Feather River Canyon. Fall asleep to the sounds of the trains. See historic train sites. Soak in nearby hot springs (may be closed). Walk to the Twain General Store for ice cream with the kids or take a drive into historic Quincy. See website above for details. Reservations suggested but not required at www.recreation.gov. PLEASE NOTE: The restrooms with flush toilets will be CLOSED. There will be "tinkle towers" available. Hallsted will undergo some major construction in July as they will be installing new bathrooms and adding RV hookups. Enjoy our quiet little campground while you can. Site 16 has NO privacy.

Comment by Blake on May 31, 2011 at 8:14pm: I have a big power inverter and extra battery. It can probably power a projector and laptop for at least an hour. We just need some extension cords.

Comment by westywoman (Melissa) on May 31, 2011 at 9:12pm: I've got The Great Train Robbery and Transsiberian loaded on the iPad. Can also show those on my laptop with 15" screen. I also have A Hard Days Night on DVD(great train scenes). I just don't want to haul a projector around...can anyone else volunteer? Seems the laptop could run on it's own battery if the projector can run off an inverter.

Comment by Blake on June 1, 2011 at 10:34am: There is a possibility that I can sneek out the projector from my office for the weekend. People have to really want it though. Do we hear votes for it? Does anyone else have one they are willing in to volunteer? Is there a white sheet that someone can bring?

Comment by Blake on June 2, 2011 at 8:33pm: I can set up my awning and we can stretch is out flat between the upright stands and clamp it. It would be very flat if it's not windy.
