VW Camper Family

A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.

Buckeye is a NFS campsite run by American Land & Leisure. It is a great campground near some hot springs. Unfortunately, the water system was shut down this year due to high levels of bad stuff. The camp host tells me it's the same readings as in previous years but that the standards changed. So, for the reduced fee of $15, you get vault toilets, a picnic table, a fire ring and a level place to park. No water. Buckeye closed for the season on October 4.

However, if you're self-contained and bring your own water, you can camp all over the place in the nearby National Forest, for FREE! Lots of level spots and plenty of room for multiple vehicles, all along Buckeye Road.

Either way, don't miss Buckeye and Travertine hot springs.
