Buffalo Campground/ Pike National Forest

The elevation is 7,400 ft. The campground, one of two in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area, is a single loop located in a stand of Ponderosa pine with grass understory. Some camping sites are well separated. The campground is convenient to Buffalo Creek and, via the Colorado Trail, the Lost Creek Wilderness. Firewood is available for a fee. I camped here in The Pig for a day last summer and found it to be a great experience. The bathrooms were clean, the spots provided ample space for the bus, great scenery and trails nearby.. Two Thumbs Up!
