Hi Laura Anne,
Eric is leaving Vegas around 9am Thursday. Not sure from where exactly but I did send you a message on Facebook at the weekend with my flight arrival time and hotel, so you can find me on Wednesday. I'd love to see you in Vegas. I went first time (only time so far) for my 50th birthday but not such great fun as no-one could join me. I'd love to play a few tables with a few friends. Any takers?
By the way, my budget is miniscule, but I usually win and then I walk away. Honest!
Cheers,
Carole
Thanks Kim, all sounds great! I was hoping that Westy Woman could make it from Sacramento, but not sure. Also Jenn in Oakland said she'd decide last minute.
On your write up, all we need now is a photo inserted with each description. I'm sure you have time to do that! LOL ....

Hello everyone, Maybe you heard about the weather in the north east? My 7am flight would have arrived in Vegas earlier today and by now I'd have been putting my feet up in a hotel. But I'm here in Massachusetts having had my later flight of 3.15pm cancelled (the fourth flight, after successive cancelations and re-bookings). After all day yesterday and half of today on the internet and phone to Southwest airlines, after digging out the car from two feet of snow, packing, unpacking and re-packing, I am at last going to put my feet up here. Why? Because I finally found a flight for Friday, which arrives in Vegas at 6.30pm. Rental cars are almost as rare as flights due to the travel havoc, and a lovely lady who I met on Facebook this week (through a connection from the Ride for the Wall bikers last year - part of my maiden voyage in my van) just now offered to drive from her home in Lake Havasu the 150 miles to Vegas to pick me up from the airport and take me to my motel near BBB. How marvellous is that! Also answers your question, Laura, about people's friendliness.
Having spoken to Judy in Lake Havasu for the first time today, it seems we have much in common (writing, love of architecture and design, gardening, Facebook friends! etc). Now that it is quieter than it's been for days, I am beginning to realize that God may be up to something again! She even knew about MG (Myasthenia Gravis) the rare auto-immune disease that is the focus of my road trip for this coming summer/fall across America. Maybe I'm meant to discover something through Judy this weekend?
How strange it is that, after all the wondrous people and gifts I was given on my road trip last year because I allowed myself to trust and be led, I forgot all that, and this week fell back into my old ways of kicking and screaming when things were outside my control. First the ice storm in Provincetown made it impossible for me to get down my outside stairs and I was late for a presentation to the MG Charity near Boston. Then the past 48 hours of flight cancellations and travel changes threw me into trying harder and harder to make plans that would work. Do you ever get the feeling that you are supposed to stay home and discover something that is staring you in the face? Hopefully I've woken up to that possibility, just in time.
