What happened to Big Blue's spare tire?

Big Blue's spare was removed right after we bought it - there was a ton of rust behind the mount. Only recently did I start to fill and sand (I used to have a square of tape and a grateful dead sticker covering the rust to seal it from rain. I found a rust-free grill about a month ago. I will have this all sanded and painted before Rio Vista.
