She ran great and I even got to try out the new dual battery setup for camping. It worked perfect! It was nice to have the available electric power and not have to worry about the starter battery being dead after three days.

My wife and I are retired. We love to hike and camp and after so many years we have returned to our roots. We used to have a van just like yours same color same everything. I was looking foward to camping in the redwoods and meeting some of the like minded people who are on this web site it breaks my heart to miss it but I am a bit of a traditionalist and must do the Bay to breakers this weekend. Another thing the name Ruby is our 4yr old granddaughter's name. So this being my 1st responce to anyone Good job keep her going I look foward meeting you

That picture was actually taken at Portola Redwoods State Park near La Honda. This was our first camping trip in Ruby and it was a lot of fun. I too was looking forward to the Bus City campout, but unfortunately I'm not sure if I'm going to make it now. I'm recovering from surgery so I'm not sure if I'll be physically able to drive Ruby. I'm really bummed about it because I've been looking forward to this for a year. I guess it will depend on how I feel by May 16th.

Anytime you want to meet up and talk Volkswagens just let me know. I'd love to meet other VW fans in the area! We are an all VW family. In addition to Ruby we have a '09 Jetta TDI and '03 Beetle Convertible ( my wife's toy). I try to take the family to Linda Mar beach whenever I can and I'm dieing to get Ruby down there again! She likes the beach too!
