VW Camper Family

A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.

Last night I began prepping the van for a $50 rolled on paint job. (Look up "Rolling on the Tremclad" in thesamba.com forums for full details).

I am going to use Tremclad, "Real Orange".

I sprayed a sample on the door so I could make sure the colour was close enough to the van's original L20B Brilliant Orange (on the bumper).

Minor change in plans is under way.

Custom tinting of Oil Based Tremclad, is no longer available in Canada as of the last couple of months.

Water based tremclad can not be tinted to "Real Orange", as the codes are not given to Tremclad dealers.

So the new plan is rattle canning Real Orange Tremclad (Oil Based), wet sanding it after a couple of weeks, and clear coating it.

Sure hope it turns out!

I LOVE SEEING THE BEFORE PICTURES SO THAT WE CAN SEE JUST HOW GOOD EVEN A MINOR RESTORATION PROJECT CAN LOOK.
