We have a 1981 VW vanagon campmobile. Had one in the 70's for our cross country trip. Orange white top. We were not looking for one. In Florida and saw one near us for sale at a reasonable price. Thought a scammer. The owner just showed us because we lived so close. It was all there. No major rust and and it ran. We just took her home. Well, it really smells, had roaches, renamed roach coach. Of course further looking made us realize all seals need replacing, floor wet, a few holes under cork rug flooring. all seams every have some rust. A few rapairs , bondo,noted. Many arguments over just doing some minor repairs and selling to finally taking it all apart to repair all rust, new seals. We are on stage 1, Using POR 15, repairing missing metal under seals. Still more arguments but just over what next and possibly getting some body work/paint help. Also regarding insulation. Day by day. We are retired but only so much to spend. We will now call her Mello Yello in Florida.
