Can easily cruise with traffic on the freeway with a good running '90 Vanagon ... will slow down some going over the sierra's but should still be able to do 55 mph or better. Yes, will likely bleed money! That's pretty much a reality ... you might have is closely checked out at Stephan's Auto Haus in Sacramento. Stephan always has a ton of Vanagons in his shop and really knows them well. Finally, they are lots and lots of fun and you always get to wave back and forth with other Vanagons as you're traveling around.
