THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RESERVATIONS FOR THIS EVENT.
The campground is closed to the general public until Memorial Day. But Ranger Chris opens the campground Friday morning JUST FOR US. It's secret! It's special. We've been doing this for 6 years!!!! Trust us. The campground will be open on Friday. There will be space for you. Thanks!

ADVENTURER AWARD
We will be announcing the winner of the Schoolhouse Canyon Park / VW Camper Family "Adventurer Award". The award will be awarded to the bus that drives the most miles between Bus City 8 and Bus City 9. Buses must be present at the campout in 2017 (and had to be at 2016) to win!
Also Schoolhouse owns 30 acres across the street and a private beach just for the campground. It's just a five minute walk down the river trail. So bring your swim suits!

There is plenty of space for every one. Very informal. Pick out a space or people you want to hang with and introduce yourself. Ranger Chris will tell you what is happening when you check in.

Looking at the site layout map, am I correct that there is just one bathroom down by the road labeled "bath house"?

The bathroom is about midway in the campground. It has showers also that take quarters.

Clean Bathrooms, Showers and a Dish Washing Station, they are kept very very clean and stocked with hand soap and dish soap. This is one of the cleanest and well stocked campgrounds we have ever been too, while still feeling intimate and "in the woods". Ranger Chris is an amazing human!!

Awesome. Really looking forward to this get together. Think we might up our arrival time to latter am.
Guess I better bring Ranger Chris some smoked Salmon for being so nice to us :-) by opening up the campgrounds a week early.

With my buggy ready to go, unexpected family concerns came up and I won't be able to go now. Have a great time to you all. If anyone is going camping in the future and don't mind a tag along, please let me know. Thanks

...other great camping opportunities with/for VWs is the "Camp & Shine" in Lakeport (Clear Lake), CA Father's day weekend (this year that is Fri. June 16th - Sunday June 18th, 2017). All kinds of VWS welcome, two nights of camping and a friendly "show" of the VWs on the Saturday with awards (participant voted). Games for kids and a raffle. Small enough of a show/camping to feel very relaxed and friendly. The show part ends with a drive around the lake for anyone who wants to participate.
