Thanks to all who came out and helped make this T-Day warmup the best ever. Even the rain didn't dampen the spirits. And thanks to Mike and Regis for helping me get the tents down in a hurry.

Fun weekend! 

Many thanks for all the shelter from the rain, fabulous food, great wine, music from Joe and live music from John and for the all the love given to Willow, Colt and Wilbur. We never did see the little mouse again but the fish camp people told me they have had a few in their tent over the years.

Here's the recipe for the brussel sprouts that some of you asked for (I forgot to add the sugar and the recipe turned out just fine)

In response to a steadily diminishing number of inquiries about Thor the Weather Mouse, I offer an ancient photo from the Alta Guard Station, Alta UT, featuring Peter Lev noted mountain guide, avalanche researcher, founding partner of Exum Mountain guides and Thor (on the left).  Thor had the amazing ability to foresee the weather.  He would appear in the Meteorology room about 48 hours before a winter storm to stock up on potato chips.  He would hang around until the storm abated and then mysteriously vanish until the next prognostication.

I want to thank John LaTorre for his tending to the bird for several hours while on the Weber grill. His careful attention to the timing of basting and adding briquettes to the grill made for a fantastic turkey again this year. Thanks John for once again partnering with me in producing this tasty culinary treat! And thanks everyone for such a great potluck and your good humour with the rain. Mike even showed a good sense of humour having to sleep in his daily driver. Whatever works.
