Event Description
Let's get into condition for Thanksgiving with our third (or is it fourth?) Annual Thanksgiving Feed. This year we'll be at Del Valle, where it maybe won't rain so much. We'll provide a turkey, but bring whatever side dishes you want for the Saturday Potluck under the Tent of Doom.

Let's see .. we had twelve people in ten busses, , plus a visitor in a Jeep, and the weather wasn't bad. A little rain on Friday night, and a bit more on Saturday night, but not enough to cause a problem. The weather was perfect on Saturday afternoon for the feast. And Pizza Night (Friday) was a great success with five camp ovens churning out the mini-pizzas. We're definitely doing this again!
My thanks to all who showed up and helped out. As for the rest of you, you missed a wonderful time. Hope to see you somewhere down the line.

Thank you to John and everyone else! I had a great time. The food was amazing. Who knew that VW drivers were such good cooks. Can't wait for the next trip.

Many thanks to John for organizing this camp out, and to all the other great people that made this another wonderful event! I was a bit worried that the "guest of honor"...aka turkey... was a bit over done, but the food was excellent and the folks enjoying it even more so. Thanks again to everyone for making this, and all the other camp outs, so special.

No, the blackened skin, aka "jerky" is normal. The turkey was extremely tasty , as was the ham, the salt-brined potatoes, the mashers, the dressing, the cranberry sauce(s), the appetizers, the gravy, the vege tray and of course, 3 pumpkin pies, ginger cookies, red wine, Gvertz and what did I forget?! Oh, the company!
