Look to book a site in Phase B - Sites 12-53 (Most are already booked). We have an enormous food fest Saturday night- a potluck featuring a turkey on the Weber and all the traditional Thanksgiving fixins that people bring to the table. Friday night this year will be Taco night-bring your favorite tacos, taco salad, pozole, quesadillas or tamales to share if you want to pig out 2 nights in a row.
Location:
Del Valle Regional Park, Livermore, CA.
One of the nicest things about this park for this event is the dishwashing station with HOT water.
Hi All, We just recently found out about this! We'd love to join up and meet some folks, but we're only able to come after work Saturday evening, and it sounds as if all the spaces may be full up anyway. Does anyone know of any space? Thanks.
Pat. Nita. It is I, Regis of Livermore, giving you both the hi hello welcome to this band of camping partakers. I didn't know yinz would be into this sort of thing or I would have turned you on long ago.
The slated weekend is indeed busy and full. It sure would be nice if you could come to visit. As it so happens, there are more people that would like to come than there is room for this time around. It doesn't happen often but this is one of those times.
Now that you've joined browse around on the Gold Country Camper group. This is where we hang out. There will be another Del Valle GTG in March for the Spring Equinox.
So. Still a month away and still chimin' in.
Here's the list . To those of you who posted as Attending, there are two who did not post. Thus, 18. But there is only 16 spots. Of those, one is left.
The original list has Richard Ellis, Big Blue and Tom Gorton as Attending.
I hope you will read this and acknowledge your standing, or not. Otherwise, In my opinion, the open site should go in first come first served order.
Just throwing this out there. The next weekend is kinda open at Del Valle and if anyone wants to have a cocktail and munchie party I'd be all for Booking again. Yeah, I said it. So there.
Reconfirming my ugly butt and Gangrene are showing up
Hi Regis, Yes, it sounds like fun. Maybe we can come by just to visit for a few minutes on Saturday evening? We'll look forward to the Spring event anyway!
Today I sent emails to the three that posted as, Attending, since there is only one spot left.
Hopefully they soon respond with their intent.
I did some research on Turkeys. I found this place and have located local vendors. I'll give them a call to see about availability.
I looked on reserveamerica.com for the weekend. There are spots open for Friday night only. Check out time is noon, iirc.
One might be able to stay Friday night then move to the overflow parking at noon and try the stealthy camp method for Saturday night. The big huge exception is that overflow cars need a ticket on the windshield. The Park Rangers will look for it.
So I'm not quite sure how this would pull off. Just a thought.
Good looking out, Regis. We may have a no-show or two, thanks for taking the lead to stay on top of it. On Monday there will be an announcement about the Friday night food festivities...put on your sombreros!
We're going to Del Valle this weekend in site 25 with the pop up trailer.
I'll ask the Ranger about third vehicle overflow parking. There has to be a way for visitors to visit.
A scenario would be that the Friday camper leaves the park on Saturday and flips a u-turn to reenter as a third vehicle. Cost would be $8. You would need a site number to be assigned to and the persons name. You then park in the overflow area(s). I wouldn't set up camp in the overflow lot like a Wally World lot and may even keep the top down.
I'll get the skinny this weekend.
Friday night is Taco Night! It was decided by a majority at the Finnon Fright Fest that Friday night's banquet this year will be south-of-the-border-themed fare: bring your favorite tacos, taco salad, pozole, quesadillas or tamales to share if you want to pig out 2 nights in a row.
