Join us in the scenic and historic Feather River Canyon at Hallsted Campground in the Plumas National Forest.
We have a full house. ALL SITES HAVE BEEN RESERVED as of May 17. There is one non-reservable site you can take a chance on. Otherwise, check the comment wall to see if someone wants to share. The recreation.gov link is below:
The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:
Walk through the woods going north east, short trail, and BAM, the General Store shall appear, along with a post office and some other campers.
Not the same. The Hallsted NFS site states small store on site, not the General store in/at Twain.
Might be something new. Might be a misprint. Gonna have to wait
Well, now, that is interesting. The Twain Store and RV Park has been for sale for years. But I can't fathom NFS or the concessionnaire buying the property. So, I suspect it is a marketing ploy. The Twain Store has a nice selection of beer, ice cream, hats and ice is available. It is a 1/2 mile walk from the campground. I consider it a real benefit of camping at Hallsted.
I was planning to keep it open for group use or as an emergency spot for someone at the last minute. 13 will be the site of group campfires and the Saturday potluck. If you want any privacy at all, I suggest you take #3.
Bringing my solar laterns... soooo cool
Wimp.
nah, just kidding.
Gonna flip over your westy.... grrrrrrrrrrrrr
If I see the red SOS mode, I'll know you need another Tequila shot.

Or is the red blinking mode for "do not disturb", Regis is snoozing in the Napagon?
