Lawson’s Landing is a fishing and boating resort and campground, situated at the mouth of Tomales Bay, California— known for generations of families as a place to escape the heat and to rest along the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
Camping is in meadows surrounded by sand dunes (and often cows) with the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay a short walk away. Camping is $30 a night. Reservations can be made online.

Please note the gate hours, they close at 10pm & 11pm on Fri & Sat respectively. We will be arriving early Friday and block off an area big enough for us all.
Better ask about the Despair Annex, also.
Not dumb at all... anyone driving an old Bus, Vanagon or even a Eurovan has to have a healthy sense of humor. Can't wait to see it!

I just made my reservations!! Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.
How are we working the "shared spots" thing? Should I reserve a space now, or should I commit to sharing somebody else's space? (And, if so, whose?)
Kris, you hit it on the head. Based on my conversations with the front gate people that's the way it will work. We should all say we are with VW Camper Family and see if that helps firm up the group theme in their minds.
We made our online reservations. In the notes I told them about our group and that we would like to camp together. Everyone has to make their own reservations, $30 per night per vehicle + $5 reservation fee. On the payment page there is a place for comments. Add that you are with VW Camper Family, maybe they can group us.
On the website, it says:
Only Areas V and W (Pier and Seawall) will be open for camping after September 3, 2012.
I will likely be attending, just need to figure out my schedule. This would be my first event, as I am new here. Would it be helpful if I showed up at an earlier time to meet someone so we can hopefully get an area claimed for the group?
Mary,
It looks like you are right. I'll call to confirm. If this is the case, camping will be in a gravel area, compacted together, and exposed to the wind. I'm not very happy about this.
