THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RESERVATIONS FOR THIS EVENT.
Let me explain that further - the campground is closed to the general public until Memorial Day. But Ranger Chris opens the campground Friday morning JUST FOR US. It's secret! It's special. Don't ruin it. If you call, the answering message will say it's not open until memorial day. If you show up the Wednesday or Thursday before, they will not be open. Please do not call the campground or show up before Friday. We've been doing this for 6 years!!!! Trust us. The campground will be open on Friday. There will be space for you. Thanks!
Simply RSVP here so we have an idea on how many might show up and then show up! No worries!
For those of you who have been, you know why you come back.

ADVENTURER AWARD
We will be announcing the winner of the Schoolhouse Canyon Park / VW Camper Family "Adventurer Award". The award will be awarded to the bus that drives the most miles between Bus City 7 and Bus City 8. Buses must be present at the campout in 2016 (and had to be at 2015) to win!
Also Schoolhouse owns 30 acres across the street and a private beach just for the campground. It's just a five minute walk down the river trail. So bring your swim suits!

I'm not going to be able to come up there before Saturday morning, but I think I'll try even at the risk of not finding a place to camp. At least I can make a day of it!
Maria - we'll make sure there's space for you on Saturday. It's never filled up in the past, but if it happened to, someone would share their space.
I am still trying to figure out the budget. I now get that it will be 105 if camping all three days, not 35 for the event, plus food and other necessities. My big cost will be gas getting there and back. and, trying to map away with least traffic in the SF area.
Isn't it more like $35/night? If so, I see $70 per camper (Friday and Saturday nights). Out by noon on Sunday. Please confirm.
How early on Friday can we arrive?
How late on Sunday can we remain without being charged an extra day?
you are right, 70 for friday and saturday, I was adding in other camping since I would drive back on Monday to avoid sunday traffic ;)
Actually that sounds wonderful, but my wife needs to be at work early Mon, while I sleep in.... :-)
Hey guys - yeah, sorry. I added "/night" to all the daily fees. You're right. BUT, don't forget that you can share a spot. so 2 buses on the same spot would be like $40 a night divided by 2 - so $20 a night (maybe more if you have more people in your bus). It's pretty easy to share a spot if you want to.
I'll find out how early you can arrive on Friday but assume around noon for now.
Checkout is 11am.
Weather suppose to be wonderful this weekend, so think we'll do a test drive up to the area and back down along the coast on Sunday. That or stay home and pull weeds......hmmmmm.
Pulling weeds = 300 calories
Partying on the coast = 800 calories
Easy choice
OK, so yesterday we drove up to the campgrounds knowing that they were closed but still wanted to check it out. I immediately noticed that there is a very small driveway and question for those who get there early, where do you line up while waiting for the gates to open up? The traffic on River road was flying past the entrance and just can't imagine too many westy's being able to line up along that road. Yes/No?
