THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RESERVATIONS FOR THIS EVENT.

The campground is closed to the general public until Memorial Day. But Ranger Chris opens the campground Friday morning JUST FOR US. It's secret! It's special. We've been doing this for 6 years!!!! Trust us. The campground will be open on Friday. There will be space for you. Thanks!

Simply RSVP here so we have an idea on how many might show up and then show up! No worries!

ADVENTURER AWARD
We will be announcing the winner of the Schoolhouse Canyon Park / VW Camper Family "Adventurer Award". The award will be awarded to the bus that drives the most miles between Bus City 8 and Bus City 9. Buses must be present at the campout in 2017 (and had to be at 2016) to win!

Also Schoolhouse owns 30 acres across the street and a private beach just for the campground. It's just a five minute walk down the river trail. So bring your swim suits!

We will be attending with our 1967 Tin-top Westfalia.

Hope to arrive as soon after work on the Friday as humanly possible... or rather; as VW possible.

Looks like it is only roughly 70 miles for us, but we'll be fighting 101 North Friday traffic.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone.

First time ever attending, have only taken my gifted 2003 VW Eurovan on two trips only. Looking forward to a lot of tips and tricks, plus some fun of course. Taking my dog Merckx and my bike.

Comment by Chris Apallas on May 13, 2017 at 2:49pm: Excited to attend. I learned about this group when we actually stayed at this camp a few years ago and Chris told us about the pre-opening event. We can only make Friday night and this will be our pre-season shakedown run. 7 month old and a 2.5 year old should keep us busy. We'll be the parents frantically chasing a van-loving toddler around camp!

We are good to go! The camp is almost ready and we're working hard putting the finishing touches on.
It looks beautiful. I'll be opening those gates at 9 AM on Friday morning for you guys .They can trickle in anytime after that. Everything's perfect with maybe a few more mosquitoes than a normal year. Not terrible but I'd say bring some repellent early in the season like this. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary.
