All - there is a VW exhibit at the California Automotive Museum in Sacramento, and this is the first weekend it is open. They have a rather large parking lot! So, Blake and I thought we should all go there, pop the tops and make breakfast/lunch and see the VWs. There are other cars in the museum if you really want to see them.Admission is 7 or 8 bucks.
I'm letting the "VW bug crowd" know as well. And, apparently there will be other VWs there from the sac club!
I'll be out of town that day, so I'll have to catch the show another time.
Looks like the VW club changed dates, but their show is now official. They are having it on 3/18/12 from 10am to 3pm. Here is a link to their forum post on the samba. I don't know if you want to change dates, again, or keep it the way it is and have a separate get together... Ill leave it up to you.
Bastards! They kicked me out of their forum. Well. 3-18 works for me. What does everyone think?
March 18 actually works better for me.
Hey, there's nothing that says you can't show up, just that you can't have Honey Bee in the actual show, with people gawking at her and kids climbing on her and dogs peeing on her tires.
Blake and Shelby said they're going to be there, and their Vanagon not only lacks an air-cooled engine, it lacks a Volkswagen engine. So there.
I'll be there mostly so I can show the trailer and find people who actually know something about it.
Another thing: Big Blue, you'd better change the date to the 18th of March on the header.
And for Chrissake, show up this time! We missed you all at Sandy Beach!
If I understand correctly, this is a public event - so there is nothing that can keep you from parking where you want to. I assume that means that you can park right next to me and I'll defend your watercooled vehicle as an excellent example of how a great idea (the camper van) can be taken to the next level of comfort and practicality. H8rs gonna h8.
Air-cooled Schmair-cooled.....I say we circle the 'wagens, no matter what propelled them there, and have a good time! Isn't it bad enough we have the splity/bay window/fat chick/whateverelse rivalries going on?
