Event Description

Let's get into condition for Thanksgiving with our third (or is it fourth?) Annual Thanksgiving Feed. This year we'll be at Del Valle, where it maybe won't rain so much. We'll provide a turkey, but bring whatever side dishes you want for the Saturday Potluck under the Tent of Doom.

To Static: Roll Call! "Bring Maggie, bring wine."

Trader Joe's has excellent, inexpensive, genuine pizza dough. Already made.

Looks like we still need wine and some more pies. I will bring a pie then.

I cut up my dining room table. That's considered processed wood right! I'll bring it.

Weather

I see the forecast for Livermore is a bit more positive than for Sacramento. Chance of showers. I can live with that. But bundle up, it's gonna get chilly!

Blake, good idea-- we cut up a futon couch ;-) As far as rain goes, we fear not--John will have the Tent of Doom. Will we have the Annex of Despair? We will probably bring our Well of Souls for our gear.

@Kris: LOL! Good one!

Yes, the Annex will be there along with the Tent, so we'll have an area 25' x 20' under cloth. If anyone is inspired to bring additional tentage (E-Z ups or possibly a large Tent of Awsomeness, I won't discourage you.

I bought some of the Trader Joe's 8-inch frozen pizzas. I figure: one variable at a time, since this is my first time out with the Coleman oven.

Is your oven the fold-away Coleman that fits on one stove burner? If so, we carry one in the bus with the stoves. It'll be available (with stove and fuel) for Pizza baking, too.

That's the kind of oven I have. So I guess we're covered in that department.

Regarding firewood, I think that the FoodMaxx stuff will be OK. What they don't want is firewood that hasn't been inspected, and all the grocery store stuff is inspected. But if the wood has been finished (read: scrapped furniture) then there may be problems with fumes outgassing from the stuff they use in the varnish or whatever.

OK, I'll leave my kitchen cabinets at home! :)
