Just about all of the Oregon State Parks are very nice, and full facilities - hookups if you want, hot showers, etc.

A few of the campgrounds have sites that are close enough to Hwy 101 that you get highway noise: Harris Beach, Beachside, Beverly Beach; but those are also very desirable locations for coast attractions.

My favorites include Cape Blanco, Bullards Beach, Sunset Bay, Honeyman, Cape Lookout, South Beach and Nehalem Bay. Each of these is either in a very scenic location or close to other coast attractions.

There are a few USFS campgrounds on the coast also. Usually not full hookups or showers, but very good otherwise. Cape Perpetua in particular is great.

All coast campgrounds are very busy in summer, and most weekends spring and fall, so reservations are a good idea. Otherwise try to show up 10-11am in the morning in hopes of catching someone as they check out.

The "city campground" in Florence OR is Very Nice.. Each campsite is secluded and separated by bushes. It is at the north end of town on the coast..

Humbug Mountain State Park is 65 miles North of the CA-OR border on Hwy 101.  Camped there years ago amid little bunny rabbits that showed up around the campground in the evening  and mornings.  it was clean, quiet and each campsite was surrounded by bushes (oleanders?) that made them very cozy with grass for the dogs.  I 'd like to go back there again next time I'm headed up that way from Sacramento.

Mel - be sure to check the campground map link at the top. There are a few Oregon campgrounds on there for you.

Note to self - I understand dogs and oleanders don't mix very well so don't let em eat the bushes...

Hello Folks

My husband and I are planning to travel from San Francisco area to the Oregon Coast with our 2 miniature Dachshunds in our VW Eurovan Camper Van for September 2015 ...Have not done much research yet..If anyone has suggestions on dog friendly accomodations and also campsites for the Eurovan, do let us know.

We heard it's beautiful there to visit the Oregon Coast.

Appreciate your time and input and Thank you in advance.

Dogs are allowed in almost all Oregon State Parks. This brochure may help:

There are also quite a few dog-friendly hotels/motels along the coast. One of our favorite hotels, even if it wasn't dog-friendly,  is the Adobe Resort in Yachats.

Oregon coast is indeed beautiful, and September is one of the best times to visit.
