VW Camper Family

A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.

I just received a pop top repair kit from gowesty. All it contained was a piece of plastic screening, and a piece of canvas about a foot square. The screen in my camper has a tear about 3 inches long. What is the best way to repair. There was no glue, double side tape or any instructions. Thanks.

Just a link to a representative site--the weaving technique is to avoid using any adhesives that weaken the screen material and make an unavoidable spreading sticky-dirty spot that looks worse than a rip. Note the fiberglass/plastic screen caveat in every similar site: repairs are problematic, replacement is recommended. We have seen tent repair tape used effectively on short tears (really just poke-holes), applied on both sides of course, but longish repairs with tape will pull apart and leave an adhesive mess. This is a common problem with folding or rolled plastic screen; if you search out a Wonder Product that works please let us know.
