Happy Campers Wine. For starters, I brought this label's Cabernet Sauvignon to last weekend's campout in Napa and was pleased on two fronts: one: it has a screw-top, which makes it convenient; two: the Cabernet Sauvignon was a great camping wine, not too oaky, not too much tannin, not too much sweetness. Right in-between and good for a wide range of cookery. I bought it for $5.99 on sale at the Sacramento Co-Op. It's nice to find a decent $5.99 wine for camping.

We spotted this one on the Bevmo website. I'm only commending the label.

I haven't tasted it, and the price of $30 a bottle is very steep for camping.
Well then, can you beat a $2 bottle of Sea Ridge Captain's Red Table Wine? I know I can't! Who doesn't like a mix of all the cheap reds made by one company? Woot Sea Ridge! Plus, 'Captain' invokes pirate images in my mind and demands ye be takin' yer swigs straight from yer bottle! Y'arrrg!

Y'arrrg, I'll let the real connoisseurs get back to the discussion....
I know some may disagree but~ BOX WINE! Box Wine~ especially Franzia Sangria or Sunset Blush. Easy to pour without spilling, you don't have to worry about breakable glass and you get about 4 bottles to a box! With the price close to $15 give or take it makes a good wine for sharing with your camping friends too!

Actually, I took box wine with me to Death Valley last January and it was a good solution for a longer trip. There are some decent box wines out there.

Oops, make that $7.99 for the Happy Camper wines.
