We can't do Finnon this Fall, so we're moving the fest to Turtle Rock. It's our first time with this site, so we'll see how it works for us.
If the fire danger is high, we won't be allowed to have a campfire. If it's not, campfires are allowed and the camp hosts sell firewood for $6 a bundle.
If there's public sentiment for a potluck on Saturday, we can do that, too.
The" LaTorreTripod(tm)" is actually something that Al Knoll showed me (and he said he got the design from somebody else). So I can't take credit for it and, if it has a tendency to collapse once something has been hung from it, will repudiate any link I might have with it.
But chili is a good idea (assuming we can have fires at all). You furnish the pot.
Lids are pricey. Maybe just a bowl?
Unfortunately I'm out... I'll be in some hot springs in North Carolina that week....
I wonder if the hot springs at Markleeville will be available for y'all there?
I hope to attend at least one more VWCF campout before winter...
Cheers, all...
Brian.
ps. By my calculations, there are only 2 bowls to a lid... (I like to pack big bowls for camping.)
We're going to join for our first group campout. Looking forward to it!
I don't have a lid to bring, but might be able to throw a nickle or dime in the kitty.
Sorry to miss it, we'll be road tripping in Oregon starting this weekend.
Last time we camped at Turtle Rock they had Karaoke night!
