Event Description

A camping get together at California Caverns near San Andreas, CA
Camping at the Cavern Visitor Center: FREE! ($5 donation to the Visitor Center would be appreciated, but not required). Cave Tour Group Rate: $12.75. The manager of Caverns Site has offered us on-site camping under the oaks near the dry creek with tables, BBQs, water, and a primitive group fire pit. There is one 110V elect. outlet. The bathrooms are are open 24 hours, clean and heated at night! Pets on leash while grounds open for tours, but after that . . . ;-) Torrential downpour with flooding cancels.

If it IS a "torrential down pour with flooding", then March may be better--I'm boxed in that month as one of the veterinary support staff for the search and rescue dog training exercise in the middle, and another organization's drill on another weekend.

Comment by westywoman (Melissa) on January 19, 2010 at 8:57am: I got used to no showers on my DV trip...that's not an issue. More an issue is work-related stuff. Gotta make up for some lost time. I might be able to make Jan 30 or mid-late Feb, sometime after Rio Vista.
