Join us in the scenic and historic Feather River Canyon at Hallsted Campground in the Plumas National Forest. The campout will feature tie-dyeing and a potluck dinner Saturday.
Please Note: All sites have been reserved as of 5/19. You will need to arrange a share if you do not have a reservation. See the comment wall for a list of known campers and sites.
There are National Forest Service free campsites nearby as well as camping at the Twain Store, both within walking distance. The link to the Hallsted campground where the campout is being held is in the header above.
The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a natural and cultural resource treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:

Time for the POTLUCK DISCUSSION.
Since we are SWAG-free this year, and we have a new group tie-dye event planned for Saturday, then perhaps we might also scuttle the potluck this year. No time like the present to be done with old and embrace the new! So, unless, in the next 24-48 hours, I hear a resounding outcry that we should once again have a potluck dinner Saturday night, then we will scrap the idea.
I've been hankerin' fer a spaghetti fest.
Cane Rattler was also talking Cowboy Stew (on the triangular thingy over the fire, everyone dumps a can in.) Sounds awful to me (apologies to CR).
It also looks like it may be heating up, so perhaps spaghetti is best left for a fall campout.
I'm good with a free-for-all grub out... chow on what ya brung, share if ya want... its all good.
Ok then. Sausages it is. You'll have to toast yer own buns. I can't help ya there.
We're way long over due for a drum circle.
Wait, is that a food product.
Maybe after the food fest
But seriously, pan fried nachos with sloppy joe's is the bomb diggity. A 'lil avocado on the side, yes?
Who's cookin'?
Remember the first year? Carl brought rack of lamb for the grill? And Regis grilled a tri-tip. Dang! Times they are a changing...
Stir fry. Pan fry. Solar fry. Grill fry.
Whatev. Just throw it on a tortilla with some cheese and have a Fajita Fest.
