Event Description

Our annual escape from Superbowl Madness. It will be our usual set-up .... wine, food, companionship (bring the wine and bring or buy the wood). Also, musical instruments are welcome, and maybe we can jam a little.

Friday night is pizza night ... bring your little Coleman camp ovens or use ours, and make and bake an 8" pizza. (You provide ingredients, of course.)

On Saturday, the legendary 'Soup or Bowl' competition will take place once again! Here's how it works: Prepare a batch of something hot and delicious to share that can be served in a bowl. Some examples would be chili, stew, Jambalaya, a hearty soup or anything else that's yummy. Bring your entry to the serving table no later than 4:00 pm. Using ballots, all attendees will rank the entries from best to the not-so-best. Those with the most votes will receive *VALUABLE PRIZES*, a snazzy ribbon and eternal bragging rights. Runner-ups will also receive a snazzy ribbon along with the honor vested to participants. If you want to contribute something but cooking is just not possible, bring a dessert or garlic bread or wine. We do like our wine. If you don't wish to cook something or bring along something, that's fine too! Just bring along your own bowl and your own spoon and wine glass. We need your votes!

(Suggestion: muffin tins make great sampling trays)

Party Central will be spot #4. As usual, it will be rain or shine, and if it's rainy, the Tent of Doom and the Annex of Despair will keep us all dry.

Three more things: Be aware that there are wild critters (raccoons, feral cats, etc.) that will go into any open camper that you're not around. So be sure to keep your doors closed.

Second, Brett made a little video about what kind of adapter you need if you want to use the AC outlets that are at every site (for free!). Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOF7aCUfwZ0

Third, the Solano County Parks reservation system has been a little wonky of late. Some people have had trouble making ther reservations online. If this happens to you, just call the number listed above and the very nice people will take your reservation over the phone. BTW, from what I can get from their web site, reservations are now REQUIRED... first-c0me-first-served sites are no longer available.

The Vincents and a LaTorre? Now there's trouble.

The Valuable Prizes have been arriving from Valuable Prizelandia (which is located somewhere near Shenzhen).

And I have one more valuable prize to give out.

Hi - We are interested in attending but there seems to be no more spots available.  Please advise if there if there is someone with a spot to share.

Comment by John LaTorre on January 21, 2022 at 10:14am

Here's what it looks like now:

#3 Marlows/?

#4 JLT / the Vincents

#11 Kris Hanssn/?

#13 Scott and Carla/?

#15 Joe and Corey/?

#16 Ruben and Linda/?

#18 Brett Bishop/?

The rest of the slots seem to be filled. So folks, if you've got a question mark by your name, please let us know if the second space in your slot can be used by others. No shame or harm in not wanting to share... I expect that some of you are bringing two vehicles... but if you're willing to share, it's nice to post it here so we know what the score it.

Hi, my hubby and I would also like to attend if there's a spot to share. We've been interested in attending for a few years and were bummed to see all the sites reserved.  --Lisa G

Dave and Yolanda will be in site #9; using both spaces this time for 2 vehicles.

My second spot is accounted for- -parking for my truck when the girls arrive.

Well  looks like no valuable prizes for me, I'm not going to be able to make it.  I had a touch of what I now know was the flu, but in this age of covid I couldn't go back to work without a negative test....which took a week to get. Bye bye PTO. So that means my site #11 is up for grabs.  If no takers, I'll cancel and it will be back on the reservation site.

Have a great time, and I'll see you all at the 4/20 campout

Hi Kris, we would be happy to take your space, though it's a bummer you aren't able to go!  If that would work for you, DM me with payment info.

Comment by Kris Hansen on January 28, 2022 at 5:16am

Hi Lisa.  I sent you a friend request.  Get back to me and I'll send you my payment info.

Gonna miss you guys :(
