Saddle up Volks!VWCF is going to the foothills near Lake Oroville at Lime Saddle Campground. This place is beautiful this time of year whilst it's still green and the wildflowers are out. Soon after, this place is parched and HOT. LS is fairly new, with flush commodes and showers. There's a nice short trail amongst the oaks with an explosion of wildflowers. There continues to be highway construction and related delays in the Feather River Canyon/Highway 70. Check 511.org before you travel. SR 70 is currently closed. There will also be construction on I-80 west of Truckee. The campground is only available from the east by way of Quincy (70/89) or Greenville (89).The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. We are going back to Sandy Beach in Rio Vista, CA. This is our annual practice run and food fest  before Thanksgiving.
