In celebration of 4/20!
This time we will be camping at Sandy Beach County Park campground in Rio Vista.
(Lake Solano suffered significant fire damage and is currently undergoing regrooving)
You'll need to reserve a site for yourself (and maybe your pal)
AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE because they changed the dang rules.
PLEASE SHARE YOUR SITE. Or don't. No worries.
Saturday night (4:00pm) will feature PANTRY-RAID CHILI!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Important notes:
Although this event occurs around 4/20 day, it must be pointed out that all Solano County Parks are smoke-free and they're actually quite serious. They also have a new Ranger who is all gung-ho. Discretion is nine-tenths of the law.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
PANTRY RAID CHILI INSTRUCTIONS:
Look in your pantry. Grab only *ONE* 14 oz. (or so) can that matches the description on the list below.
Then, bring along that can (and a bowl and spoon for yourself) to the camp out. We will add the contents of your contribution to a base of beef and onions.
PANTRY RAID CHILI CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS:
Bring along one 14 -15 oz. can of any of the things listed below:
Pinto beans
Red Kidney beans
White beans
Navy beans
Piquinto beans
Diced tomatoes
Diced tomatoes with Italian spices
Diced tomatoes with Jalapeños
Crushed tomatoes
Chopped tomatoes
Rotel tomatoes
Chili con Carne
Chili sin Carne
Chili con Zarigüeya
Ranch Style beans of any variety
Please do NOT bring Black beans.
Please do NOT bring Garbanzo beans.
Please do NOT bring Lentil beans.
If bringing a can of beans won’t work for you, then bring corn bread or a scrumptious dessert. Or a bottle of wine. We like wine. Or firewood. We like that too. If that won’t work either, then just bring yourself, a bowl, a spoon, an appetite and a new joke.
Shari, I’ll try to arrive right around check in time.
I should be close to that time too! By the way, I don't have the old split-window bus anymore. I have a Toyota pickup and a little teardrop trailer. Thanks again!

We have site #22 reserved!! Excited to meet everyone and to finally attend another VW campout...slowly returning to normalcy. Bringing the 75 westy from Guerneville Chad and Bob
Hi, does anyone have a campsite they'd like to share? it's just me and the vanagon and I guess all sites are booked up now. I can share all costs. Please let me, I'm really looking forward to this event!
The weather forecast is pretty good for the weekend... Highs in the seventies, lows around 50. And sunny, so the Tent of Doom won't be necessary for rain cover. However, the evenings are expected to be be breezy, with winds up to 20 mph from the west-southwest, so we might want it for wind protection. What say you, Joe?
Hi Jane, we have space to share. We look forward to meeting you and sharing site 3.
safe travels, Kathy & Mike
Thank You Kathy & Mike!!! I really appreciate your generosity. I'm glad to split all costs with you, just let me know how much. I look forward to meeting you.
thanks again, Jane
