The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", the Feather River Hot Springs are now associated with an RV park and cabins. I think you need to call to make a reservation.

The Twain Store is walking distance from the campground and has ice, ice cream, deli items, breakfast and lunch, beer and much more.
The camp host will have firewood for sale.

Welcome Brett! You snagged the pull-through site. It's a nice site.
Hello All, First time camper. I'm in site#5 Hall. if I look like I have no idea what the hell I am doing you are right! Help is gratefully appreciated. :)
Hi, Paul. The usual rules are: bring (or buy) wood, bring wine (or your favorite libation) and prepare to have fun, even if it gets a tad warm. We have found it useful to have an aluminum lawn chair or equal that you can bring down to the river and immerse yourself in the stream.
Thank you John, Is the site dog friendly?
Dogs on leashes are always welcome at Halsted campground. They even have a poop bag station by the bathrooms. At least they did the last time we were there in 2019.
Thank You,
05 Paul

I can't attend as I will be preparing my Westy to put up for sale in the middle of June. Space # 17 has been cancelled and is up for grabs. Have fun everyone.
