Event Description
A campout in the scenic Feather River Canyon. Fall asleep to the sounds of the trains. See historic train sites. Soak in nearby hot springs (may be closed). Walk to the Twain General Store for ice cream with the kids or take a drive into historic Quincy. See website above for details. Reservations suggested but not required at www.recreation.gov. PLEASE NOTE: The restrooms with flush toilets will be CLOSED. There will be "tinkle towers" available. Hallsted will undergo some major construction in July as they will be installing new bathrooms and adding RV hookups. Enjoy our quiet little campground while you can. Site 16 has NO privacy.

Shari G-E and Mike regrettably cannot make to TS3 this year. However, they extended an invitation to travelers who need a place to stop along the way to contact them.Quote: "For those who might get a late start, or want to split the trip up, we're about 96 miles from Hallsted. That 's 130-40 miles from the Bay Area: park in our yard, pop the top, plug in lights, use flush toilets, get some sleep. I'll be in Twain Fri. afternoon.... I have no reservations... I'll be wingin' it.
I was at Fort Bragg the other day too.... I didn't ride the Skunk Train... But, I did some Bus Spotting... Here's the old skunk train VW Bus... It is on the South side of the rail yard rotting away.... Has been for many years.
