Sliding door 1978 westfalia

I cannot open the sliding door from inside, but just below the window i see a lever move (on the left side of door if you are sitting in the bus looking out) when i mov e the handle. Does anyone have any pictures of the interior of the sliding door so i can see if i am missing something?

Hi Alice...

The linkage inside may not be connected properly. 

From the inside you can begin disassembly with screwdrivers and then you cam access the linkage inside and see if it is connected.
