On the Pacific side of the park, just off Going-to-the-Sun Road before it starts to really climb. McDonald Creek is on the other side of the road.
During the height of the season this campground will often be near or at capacity by early evening. There are 87 spots all told, and a lot of them can likely hold two VWs, but no more than two. It's $20/night (don't forget you have to pay to get in to the park). There's water and flush toilets, but no showers. There are lots of big trees packed in all around so road noise shouldn't be a big concern. Once the sun ducks down behind the mountains it really cools off.
This is a great spot to use as a base for day hikes like the easy Trail of the Cedars and longer Avalanche Lake Trail (take a fishing pole). It's also nice for multi-day trips across the park as it is further in and much smaller (and less likely to be full) than Apgar.
