Join us on 4/20 day!
We will be camping this time at Lake Solano County Park campground, which is technically in Winters, but somewhat closer to Vacaville.
In an attempt to fend off giant motorhomes, we have locked up a whole row of desirable camp spots (with utilities!) in advance for our group.
Most of these sites will be shared (two buses per site) and are in the range of sites #39 to 45. (In the unlikely event that we run out, then consider snagging sites 8,9,10 & 11)
This campground is close by, has a swell nature center, offers fishing opportunities and has quite a few roaming peacocks.
Saturday night will feature PANTRY-RAID CHILI!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Important notes: PLEASE READ!
(1.) This campground LOCKS ITS GATES at 9:00 pm. If you do not arrive before they lock the gates, you will be camping outside the gate until the following morning.
(2.) Although this event occurs on 4/20 day, it must be pointed out that all Solano County Campgrounds are smoke-free and they're quite serious about that.
Discretion is nine-tenths of the law.

Pantry-raid chili instructions
Look in your pantry. Grab only *ONE* 14 oz. (or so) can that matches the description of either Column A, B or C.
Then, bring that can (along with a bowl and spoon for yourself) to the camp out. We will add the contents of your contribution to a base of beef and onions. (There will be enough leftovers that everyone with some Tupperware can take some home.)
Column A
14 oz. can of:
Pinto beans
Red Kidney beans
Black beans
White beans
Navy beans
Piquinto beans
Column B
14 oz. can of:
Diced tomatoes
Diced tomatoes with Italian spices
Diced tomatoes with Jalapeños.
Crushed tomatoes
Chopped tomatoes
Whole tomatoes
Column C
14 oz. can of:
Chili con carne
Chili with beans
Chili without beans
Ranch Style (tm) brand beans of any variety.
If bringing a can won’t work for you, then bring a loaf of pre-made Garlic bread or some sort of scrumptious dessert. If that won’t work either, then just bring a bowl, a spoon and an appetite. Or a bottle of wine. We like wine. Or firewood. We like that too.
As for cost, the sites start out at $77 for two nights, not counting the $10.00 fee that they charge for a second vehicle. Sites costs are split down the middle.
